Midlothian ISD is having a bond election.

On May 6th, 2023, Midlothian ISD community will vote on the district’s $415,944,300 bond package.

 

 Why is Midlothian having a bond?

  • PREPARE FOR GROWTH

    In the next six years, student enrollment at Midlothian ISD is projected to exceed the district’s total capacity. Capacity at two elementary schools will be exceeded within the next two years.

  • SAFETY & SECURITY

    This bond package would include storm shelters at various sites to protect from extreme weather events, as well as additional safety and security upgrades at various sites.

  • AGING FACILITIES

    Projects will address partial renovations at aging facilities across the district. These include Midlothian HS, Frank Seale MS, Mt. Peak ES, Longbranch ES, Vitovsky ES, and the Ag Facility Addition.

  • Transportation Facility Addition (wash and mechanical bay)

  • Ag Barn Addition (more space for animals)

PROPOSITION B - $48,664,600

  • Storm shelters for schools not receiving an addition in:

    • T.E. Baxter Elementary School

    • Dolores W. McClatchey Elementary School

    • LaRue Miller Elementary School

    • Walnut Grove Middle School

    • Frank Seale Middle School

PROPOSITION C - $11,274,900

  • Athletic Improvements (WGMS & FSMS restrooms/bleachers, HHS Baseball/Softball fields turf, WGMS tennis courts)

If all three bond propositions are approved, your tax rate will be impacted by 2.6 cents.
